The Massachusetts SMP (Senior Medicare Patrol) Program is a statewide collaboration that works to reach and empower hard-to-reach, underserved, un-served, limited English speaking and other vulnerable Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries about the importance of becoming engaged healthcare consumers.

Through the fostering of partnerships among state and local agencies, community-based organizations and adult basic education programs, the MA SMP Program has the capability of reaching nineteen (19) different ethnic communities with culturally and linguistically sensitive health benefits eligibility information.

Only by working in partnership, can we work to promote a better understanding about our healthcare system and mobilize consumers to take an active role toward patient centered care.
