Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
A Bridge Between Home and Work
When an employee encounters personal difficulties, their job performance is often impacted. At these times, assistance may be needed. Family Service EAP is a tool that provides support, when needed, to help maintain a healthy and productive workforce. What distinguishes the Family Service EAP is our focus on the workplace as well as the individual employee, plus our practice of tailoring our services to the unique needs of each of our clients.
Employee Assistance
The demands of daily living can be challenging. Personal or work-related problems affect employees in differing ways. That’s why Family Service EAP offers a range of services, including short-term counseling and referral for both job-related and personal issues, for employees at every level in an organization. The Family Service EAP provides professional counselors who provide confidential support to employees and their family members.
The Family Service EAP provides the following core services to its client companies:
- Problem Identification, Assessment, and Referral – The EAP identifies and assesses problems of the client, develops a plan of action, and when necessary, recommends or refers the client to an appropriate resource for problem resolution.
- Counseling – All employees and eligible family members covered by the Family Service EAP are able to access 2-3 sessions of solution-focused counseling with a licensed mental health clinician.
- 24-hour emergency phone line- Individuals who experience a crisis outside normal business hours will have access to support by phone 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
- Supervisor Consultations – Individual consultation is available for managers and supervisors regarding management issues and the referral of employees to the EAP.
- Crisis Management Services – When there is a critical incident at the workplace, Family Service EAP is there to help employers and employees cope with the event, respond in a healthy way, and return to normal workplace functioning as quickly as possible.
- Management Training – Training for your supervisors and managers can be customized to meet your organization’s needs and goals. A broad selection of topics are available, including: Harassment Prevention, Cultural Diversity, and Violence Prevention. This service is also available on a fee for service basis. Click here

- Wellness Seminars – Wellness seminars are available to help keep your workforce informed on important health-related subjects. These seminars serve two purposes; to educate and to prevent. Topics include: work/life issues, stress, parenting, and other topics to promote healthy lifestyle. This service is available as a standalone program.

- Drug-Free Workplace Services – Companies receive consultation on program design and implementation. An effective program assists in meeting federal requirements and impacting any existing alcohol and other drug problems. Training is targeted to all levels of the company.
- Substance Abuse Professional Evaluations – Evaluation by qualified substance abuse professionals according to the Department of Transportation’s requirements.
Training and Wellness Seminars
Family Service EAP provides management and supervisor training as well as wellness seminars to any company on a fee for service basis. Click here to learn more about our workplace training and seminars.
Family Service EAP, in collaboration with the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce, offers the Chamber Consortium EAP to small businesses with 250 or fewer employees.
