





The following giving options can be used to make a gift toFamily Service’s Annual Fund, Endowment or designated program.
The Annual Fund provides a vital means of revenue for Family Service. Contributions to the Annual Fund represent unrestricted annual operating support that Family Service is able to use where it is needed most – from staff time conducting outreach, to maintaining a welcoming facility, to evaluating our impact.
Family Service’s Endowment was established to ensure the organization’s impact well into the future. The principal of Family Service’s endowment is held in perpetuity and invested for long term growth providing ongoing income from the return on investment.
Restricted gifts may be made to support a specific program determined by the donor’s interest.
Gifts of CashOr download a donation card and mail it to our office with your check, made payable to Family Service, Inc. or with credit card information included.

Gifts of Appreciated Securities One way to reduce your tax on the gain of stocks, bonds, and other securities is to donate them to Family Service. Your gift of appreciated securities qualifies for a tax deduction equal to the fair market values of the securities on the day of their transfer if they have been held longer than one year. A gift of appreciated securities also enables you to avoid capital gains tax.
When you plan to make a gift of stock to Family Service, please first call the Development Department at 978-683-9505 ext.39 to notify us of the forthcoming gift. Then your broker can transfer securities electronically into Family Service’s account at:

If you prefer to send stock certificates, please contact Family Service’s Accounting Department at 978-683-9505 ext.14.
Gifts made in honor or memoriam may be made by mail or online through Network for Good. Please be sure to include the name of the person being recognized and the name and address of the person who should receive the acknowledgement card.
Wills and Bequests - Remember Family Service in your will or living trust. Ask your attorney to add a codicil to your will or an amendment to your trust designating Family Service, Inc. as a recipient of a designated sum or a predetermined percentage of your estate.
Gifts of Life Insurance/Pension Benefits - Name Family Service as the end-of-life beneficiary of your retirement account, life insurance policy or pension. By designating Family Service as a beneficiary will eliminate potential estate taxes and the income taxes your family members or other beneficiaries would otherwise have to pay.
Gifts from Trusts - Consult your attorney about establishing a trust whereby you benefit during your lifetime and Family Service benefits upon your death or a determined number of years. Such vehicles include charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder/lead trusts.
