Planned Giving
Gifts that extend beyond one’s lifetime leave a legacy for future generations. Family Service appreciates the thoughtfulness and generosity of individuals who make this meaningful commitment. There are many different planned giving vehicles, the most common are:

Wills and Bequests - Remember Family Service in your will or living trust. Ask your attorney to add a codicil to your will or an amendment to your trust designating Family Service, Inc. as a recipient of a designated sum or a predetermined percentage of your estate.

Gifts of Life Insurance/Pension Benefits - Name Family Service as the end-of-life beneficiary of your retirement account, life insurance policy or pension. By designating Family Service as a beneficiary will eliminate potential estate taxes and the income taxes your family members or other beneficiaries would otherwise have to pay.

Gifts from Trusts - Consult your attorney about establishing a trust whereby you benefit during your lifetime and Family Service benefits upon your death or a determined number of years. Such vehicles include charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder/lead trusts.

To obtain more information about bequest, trust and other planned giving options, please contact our Development Department at 978-683-9505 ext.39.
